The crew cut is a style of cutting the hair, the hair with a length in front and tapers to a shorter length even starts at or near the crown of the head. The sides and back may actually be a short or medium length, but when most people think of the blond hair cut short, they think a buzz cut.
Most people think that the crew cut named after the U.S. military. The truth of the matter is that hair cut got its name from its adoption by the Yale rowing crew in the 1890s.
